Tradition in our home declares corn beef and cabbage to be eaten in huge quantities, along with green mashed potatoes, green 7-UP, and green pistachio pudding, along with rolls of gold covered chocolate coins strewn over the table. This year we added strings of green beads (much like carnival style-although no one had to take their shirts off to get them) which Heidi loved, and felt accessorized very well with her princess costume!

Love all the updates, Mom! Very cool!
I just love that you LOVE st. Patrick’s day! When Brian and I used to have our dinner group last year, he got St. Patty's day and so he cooked corn beef and cabbage and I remember loving it, and cleaning up his VERY messy kitchen afterwards (they always had a messy kitchen, but it wasn't really brian or jonny's fault, it was their other roommate) anyways... it felt a little like home. Brian told me all about how you made sure they had this same feast each year. St. Patrick’s day was always a big deal in my home growing up Catholic and it was the best day ever because we got to put green food coloring in everything and everyone wore green (sometimes even my dad, who's wardrobe seriously lacked any kind of color at all), mostly it was an excuse for everyone to drink lots of beer (good ol’ Irish Catholics we were)... but us kids had ice cream and didn’t have to do homework… we just got to watch a movie and loved it!
