A visit with Aunt Skippy
Melba, Ken, and Aunt Skippy

This was a very special visit with a relative of Ken's. His Aunt Skippy was married to Art's (Ken's dad) brother Russ Boyer. She shared some fun family photos and told us a little about the family. We're glad we had this opportunity to meet her. Melba came along and enjoyed seeing Skippy after very many years.

Feel the Love...!

Valentines day is a special tradition at our home. We ALWAYS have "Little Nana's Red Stew", so yummy on a cool winter evening. Plus lots of candy for dessert. This year we added candles, and all dined by candlelight (which Heidi found most intriguing!)
Our special "treat" this year is going to be the arrival of our new granddaughter (due in July) Here's Amy's belly report; with Heidi helping show how big it is!Sunday, February 04, 2007

A visit up to Utah

Well now, Karen and Brian are settled into their lives as students up at Brigham Young University in Provo,Utah. So time for a visit to make sure their pantries are stocked with food, and to give them extras hugs and kisses. Annie and Laura joined me for a ride up in the dead of winter!
There is something almost unholy about 8 degree weather. For the first time since we have owned the Suburban (7 years), a messeage flashed on my digital directional...it said I-C-E. Yeah that has never appeared as a warning before! YIKES. People shouldn't be living in conditions like this!
But it was made worth it by going to my favorite places:
Zupa's (http://www.zupas.com/default.asp) for the best soup-Thai Coconut Chicken
A unique combination of spices and coconut milk give this soup a deliciously exotic taste.

Taco Time (http://www.tacotime.com/) Crisp Meat Burrito with seasoned lean ground beef and Mexi-Fries® One taste and you're hooked. Golden fried potatoes flavored with original seasoning. It's not a meal without 'em. And to finish this off-Crustos® Golden strips of deep-fried flour tortilla covered in our special mix of cinnimon and sugar.
Oh and seeing the kids was nice too!

Enjoying hot cocoa over at the Johnson's house
Nothing better in the world than to have family close for the holiday's. As the years go by and the children grow up I know this will be harder and harder to achieve, so it's nice to enjoy it while we can!....Be sure to check out our family homepage for all of this years updates in our newsletter.

Lots to be thankful for in the Boyer home. Children are all flourishing in their schoolwork, everyone is healthy, and we all got to be together for a holiday! Annie and family, and Joe's sister and her family joined us for a bountiful feast. AMEN

Halloween '06

No Halloween is complete without nana Ludden's fall stew. It's fun to share it with the next generation, where it's become an annual tradition! And then of course there is the real fun of having your granddaughter so excited that she can go to people's homes and knock on their doors and have them give you bags full of candy. This is joy!
